Dr Himesh Patel
Dr Himesh Patel dentist Coptfold is the principal dentist at our clinic, Coptfold Dental, having finished his time at King’s College back in 2009.
King’s College was one of the first to provide an accelerated degree for the practise of dentistry and Dr Patel was awarded for his surgical techniques. He’s been practising ever since, developing professionally along the way with numerous qualifications and full membership to the Royal College of Surgeons in 2011.
While working in clinics in both Sheffield and London, he widened his range of patients and developed his chairside manner. Finishing with a Postgraduate Award in Orthodontics and a Master’s in Clinical Dentistry in Implantology, Himesh Patel dentist Coptfold is still a local practitioner at heart, even if he’s well on the way to becoming a specialist.
He has seeked out the highest echelons of surgical dentistry in Europe to learn from and earned the opportunity to work under Hilt Tatum, the creator of the sinus lift.
From there, he then went on to take a charitable position in Peru, providing emergency and restorative dentistry to a section of the population excluded from regular treatment.
Himesh has always tried to help people get the most from their dental treatments, and those in the most need are often nervous people who may have had bad experiences with dentists in the past. Or, due to their circumstances, have an ongoing dental issue and have become ashamed of revealing it to a dentist. Himesh exemplifies our clinic’s commitment to non-judgmental care, and with his global experiences, it is very unlikely that he has not seen and treated someone in a worse condition! His chairside manner is focused around calmly talking the patient through each step in a procedure within the greater context of their care, to allow them to understand what is happening and why. In turn, this allows them to remain calm and in control.
As the clinic’s lead, Himesh Patel dentist Coptfold ensures we have the pleasure of his teaching and mentoring of all of our staff, with his attention to detail and infectious enthusiasm for the finest dentist practices. With his passion for learning, he has kept abreast of progressions in dentistry and our clinic’s early adoption of new technology. Like intraoral scanning and predicting the clinical outcome for patients in real-time with software in practice rooms.
But he’s not all dentistry; he is a keen advocate of travel and has enjoyed playing the trumpet and saxophone in the past, being interested in a wide range of music. He also holds a 2nd-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do
He has taken up golf as a more sedate hobby for the future. We hope he will be a member of our team for many years to come.
