Replenishing the gaps within your smile

Dental implants are one of the more popular tooth replacement options and therefore when seeking help to restore your smile you can rest easy with Dr Himesh Patel Dentist Coptfold. Dr Himesh is one of our leading dentists and with his masters’ degree in implantology you can be assured that you are in the safest hands.

So how do the implants work?

These small titanium screws, once inserted into the jawbone, act as an artificial root to the tooth. Unlike dentures or other tooth replacement options which over time can become loose, the dental implant remains sturdy and firm. This is mostly down to the fact that the titanium screw is inserted into the jawbone which then stimulates the surrounding bone to grow and naturally cement the artificial root into place. Therefore, no teeth escaping during that important conference or during your meal with a date. With a crown or bridge attached to the screw using an abutment, the replacement soon blends into the surrounding natural teeth.

Why are implants recommended?

Whilst it is not possible for all patients to have dental implants, for those who would be suitable the benefits outweigh the majority of other treatments. The first being that your smile will be so blended that it will be hard to distinguish between the natural teeth and the artificial ones!

You can also continue to consume whatever foods take your fancy, whilst taking care of all your teeth is of course important, being able to consume foods without limitations is always a plus. On top of all this there is no need for a detailed manual on how to maintain your new smile. Simply continue your daily oral hygiene process with efficient brushing and flossing, attend your check ups and enjoy your new replenished smile.

Alongside the fact that you are creating the appearance of a healthy smile is the fact that you are protecting your facial definition and the surrounding teeth. Over time, as a gap within the teeth is left untreated, the jawbone can begin to recede creating instability to the surrounding teeth and in some cases forming a sunken appearance to the face. Whilst this is of course one of the more extreme results of tooth loss, it is possible and therefore having implants inserted can protect your appearance in more ways than one.
